Once a year we have “World Missions Sunday” here at Canaan.  It’s a very exciting day here at our church that we’ve set aside during our calendar year just to remind ourselves of the need to continue in our missions efforts for the remainder of our faith promise missions giving year.  World Missions Sunday is a highlight of our year for many reasons.  One of which, we are blessed on that day to welcome several visiting missionaries that we already support.  We enjoy hearing about their works during the Sunday school hour, and then we’re blessed to worship with them during our services.  This year, it will be our joy to welcome Dr. and Mrs. Dean Hamby.  Dr. Hamby currently serves as the assistant director of Macedonia World Baptist Missions of Braselton, Georgia and is one of God’s choice servants.  We’re really looking forward to the messages that the Lord has laid on Dr. Hamby’s heart for this special day.

Every week here at CBC I try my very best to remind our church that the church that isn’t in the soul winning business, has no business being in business.  World Missions Sunday is just another way to getting that truth before the congregation of CBC.  I trust that you’ve already made plans to be with us for World Missions Sunday this Sunday, June 6.

Serving the Lord with gladness,

Pastor C
